Beth Nielsen Chapman on Spiritual Music

Spiritual music, to me, is all music. I've just completed a double CD called "Prism" in which I sing in 9 different languages from all different paths of faith. In the center of the words are the same pure vowels, just as each of us are, in our center, the same human family across many cultural lines and spiritual paths. Vowels are the DNA of language and communication, across all boundary lines of culture and perspective. It is intrinsically human to make a sound of devotion and "Spiritual Music" is as diverse as it is what unifies us as human beings. These universal tones connect us all. As one of the songs says that is written from voice of music itself: "I am a Hindu-Buddhist-Jew-Islamic-Christian."
